We had an excellent and wholly memorable week at The Lynches and could not have enjoyed it more: it is such a delightful and charming home in a very rare and splendid setting. We could happily have spent the whole week watching the light change in the valley.
Jules was extremely welcoming, kind and helpful. We were very glad to meet her and to enjoy her stories about the history of the village and the area.
We hope very much that there will be an opportunity to return to The Lynches before too long but in the meantime will enjoy the memory of a (freakishly) warm, clear, blustery week in a wonderful family home.
We arrived home today following a marvellous week in your beautiful house and wanted to express our sincere thanks for allowing us to share your home. It is clearly a much loved family “treasure” and it was indeed a privilege to spend precious time with our family there. It is difficult to find the words to express how we felt “at home” from the minute we stepped into the hallway – exploring every room , each with its own charm, was a delight.
But we cannot overlook the outside space ! Our five grandchildren would disappear whilst we were getting ready for the day ahead and again once we returned ….but the shrieks of laughter emanating from the trampoline always reassured us that they were having fun. The tennis court was another source of enjoyment together with the nooks and crannies we discovered around the lovely garden. We were fortunate to have seven days of sunshine with merely a few showers to remind us that we were in fact in England, not holidaying in a villa in the South of France. Utter bliss.
So, once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It was truly serendipitous to have found this gem whilst searching the internet all those months ago and all things being equal, we would love to have the opportunity to visit The Lynches again next summer.
We had one of the happiest holidays we could ever remember – filled with many shared memories. The Lynches was far beyond our expectations, we loved everything about it. Perfect for all the different ages in our family, an amazing kitchen(we cooked in all the time!) with lovely evening dinners outside on the terrace with that glorious view. The tennis court and trampoline was great for the children and the garden is just breathtaking.
Jules, the Housekeeper, was so helpful and kind, rushing over on a Sunday when the power went out to quickly flip the fuse switch. All in all, it felt like home and we were very sad to have to leave. We all hope to be able to return again one of these years, there is just so much to explore in the surrounding area, we have only scratched the surface. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
We have been having family weeks together for a number of years and everyone said that this was the best ever. The spacious house was like an art gallery. The children loved the outdoor facilities, especially the trampoline and table tennis. We could walk everywhere , avoid crowds and enjoy this beautiful part of Dorset.
What a lovely house in a fantastic location. Spacious, well equipped and with a view from the front to die for. The owners and the housekeeper were very helpful and we could not fault anything. Book it now to enjoy like we did.
The Lynches is the perfect house for a wonderful family holiday. We stayed for one week. Our family of three generations ranged from 18 months to 63. The home had everything we could have wanted both inside and out. The location was perfect and a great time was had by all.
We stayed at The Lynches over Christmas 2012 and found it to be a warm and comfortable family house. We felt relaxed and happy and enjoyed the beautiful views and walks in the area. True to the description, the kitchen was a cook’s delight. The house was a stimulating environment with an array of art and literature in all of the rooms. We have no hesitation in recommending The Lynches as an ideal choice for theperfect country get away.
